The University of Colorado Boulder Flute Studio
Christina Jennings is the only flute professor at The University of Colorado at Boulder. Her Flute Studio holds 14-17 undergraduate and graduate flute majors. These advanced flutists hail from such places as Colorado, Texas, New York, Mexico, Venezuela, New Zealand, and South Africa. Students come from a broad range of backgrounds and have done degree work at institutions including Rice and Indiana Universities, UNT, and Stony Brook. Degrees are offered in Bachelor of Music in Performance, Bachelor of Music in Education, Bachelor of Arts in Music, Masters of Music in Performance, Master of Music Performance in Pedagogy, Woodwind Certificate Program, and the Doctorate of Musical Arts. Christina Jennings and CU are dedicated to developing the whole musician. Students are expected to balance academic and instrumental excellence, and have the opportunity to participate in a range of diverse programs, such as the Entrepreneurship Center for Music, classes in the Alexander Technique through our Musicians’ Wellness Initiative, or participate in quality chamber music and large ensembles.
